Job Description

Overview

HFA is a mid-sized public accounting firm located in Central New Jersey, servicing a diverse client base by offering personalized accounting, audit, tax, and business consulting services. They are looking for a Senior Accountant who will take a lead role in audit engagements, supervise staff, and maintain client relationships, with opportunities for growth and bonus compensation based on individual and team contributions.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of audit engagements from planning to completion
  • Supervise and mentor staff during engagements
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Produce quality work and ensure attentive service
  • Perform services within budgeted time using technical and organizational skills
  • Draft schedules, notes, and reports for audit presentations
  • Monitor staff performance on jobs
  • Reconcile client records to trial balance and perform schedule computations
  • Utilize firm software to automate processes from trial balance to financial statements
  • Perform additional accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting duties as necessary

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • CPA eligible (CPA preferred)
  • Minimum two years' experience in running audit engagements
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with Prosystem fx Engagement preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Reliable transportation to client locations
