We aim to make a positive impact and give back to the communities that have supported us over the years.Join us at Carl Buddig and Company, where tradition meets innovation, and where our passion for quality meat products is matched by our commitment to our people and communities.Position Summary:The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the accounting function through month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement support, variance analysis, and compliance with internal controls and GAAP requirements. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to partner effectively with accounting, finance, operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and post monthly journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and other accounting adjustments in accordance with company policies and GAAP.Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by ensuring assigned areas are completed accurately and on schedule.Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, management reporting, and supporting schedules.Analyze financial results and account activity to identify trends, explain variances, and support decision-making.Maintain and improve accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls to support accuracy, consistency, and efficiencyPartner with cross-functional teams, including operations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, and FP&A, to obtain information and resolve accounting issues.Support audit requests by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to auditor questions as neededAssist with inventory, fixed assets, cost accounting, intercompany, or other assigned accounting areas based on business needs.Contribute to finance and accounting projects, system improvements, and process automation initiatives.Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, food CPG, or a related industry.Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.Experience preparing journal entries, supporting financial statements, and analyzing account activity and variances.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Strong communication and collaboration skills, w
