Job Description

Overview

VOLT is seeking a Senior Accountant to help build the financial backbone of a fast-scaling Series B company focused on AI perception systems. This hands-on role involves day-to-day accounting execution, preparing for external audits, and refining financial systems to support the company's growth and compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Own portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Drive accurate ASC 606 revenue recognition for software and deployment contracts
  • Prepare for and lead the company through its first full external financial audit
  • Manage accounts receivable, collections, and customer billing inquiries
  • Oversee accounts payable, vendor onboarding, and expense reporting
  • Handle corporate income tax and multi-jurisdiction sales and use tax compliance
  • Manage payroll functions, including payroll runs and tax filings
  • Build and document scalable accounting policies and internal controls
  • Improve the finance tech stack, evaluating and implementing tools
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure clean financial data flows

Required skills

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606
  • Experience owning a complete monthly close
  • Audit experience with PBC management and schedule preparation
  • Hands-on experience with modern ERP systems like NetSuite or Sage Intacct
  • Excellent attention to detail and process discipline
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bonus: CPA license or actively pursuing CPA, Big 4 background, experience in SaaS environments
