Overview

The Senior Accountant at Sunshine Silver Mine plays a critical role in supporting the Controller with day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance for a public company. This hands-on, detail-oriented position emphasizes ownership of core accounting areas and driving continuous improvement in processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform and review daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Play an active role in the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate results.
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity through ownership of assigned accounts.
  • Support external reporting, including audit support and documentation.
  • Partner with the Controller to prepare internal management reporting and analyses.
  • Assist with SOX controls execution and documentation.
  • Identify inefficiencies and help design and implement practical improvements.
  • Serve as a technical resource within the accounting team.
  • Support ad hoc accounting projects as assigned by the Controller.

Required skills

  • CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification
  • Experience in public company audit or hands-on accounting in a public company
