Job Description

Overview

As a Senior Accountant at Daniel Defense, you will play a crucial role within the Accounting & Finance department, contributing to the organization's mission to provide top-quality solutions to military, law enforcement, and civilians. You will be responsible for various accounting functions, including maintaining fixed asset records, reconciling accounts, and participating in audits, while demonstrating commitment to environmental health and safety principles.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain the Fixed Asset sub-ledger, including additions and disposals
  • Reconcile Prepaid and Accrual accounts and research variances
  • Reconcile Current and Long-term debt accounts and maintain supporting schedules
  • Prepare Sales tax and Federal Excise tax returns and reconcile related Balance Sheet accounts
  • Analyze monthly expense account trends and provide variance explanations
  • Assist with external and bank audits
  • Contribute to improving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
  • Supervise and guide junior accountants as necessary

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 4-7 years of accounting experience
  • CPA certification may be required
  • ERP or other business systems experience
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer software and Excel experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
