Job Description

Overview

Micron Technology is seeking a Semiconductor Process Engineer to enhance product quality, optimize processes, and improve yields in semiconductor manufacturing. This role involves diagnosing and resolving manufacturing line issues and collaborating with suppliers to meet quality and cost objectives, while also ensuring high-quality output and managing process health.

Key responsibilities

  • Start up, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for improved product quality.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve process-related problems using failure analysis and other methodologies.
  • Coordinate evaluations and optimizations for processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Participate in yield improvement and cost optimization activities.
  • Manage new process baseline qualifications.
  • Supervise the health of assigned processes and ensure high-quality output.
  • Proactively create redundancy plans for potential bottlenecks.
  • Travel internationally as required (up to 20%).

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a related occupation.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing process flow and fabrication area.
  • Familiarity with fabrication processing equipment and chemical vapor deposition systems.
  • Understanding of SPC principles and applications related to film deposition.
  • Data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills using software like JMP.
  • Ability to identify chronic issues in film deposition and implement long-term solutions.
