Overview

Micron is seeking a Semiconductor Process Engineer to join its Idaho manufacturing team. The role involves developing and optimizing semiconductor processes to enhance product quality and yield while addressing manufacturing line issues. Candidates will need to apply methodologies such as failure analysis and FMEA, and manage collaboration with material suppliers.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize semiconductor processes to improve product quality and yield
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve process-related problems
  • Coordinate and implement changes at process steps
  • Lead yield improvement and cost optimization activities
  • Supervise the health of assigned processes to ensure high-quality output
  • Provide proactive redundancy plans for bottlenecks impacting cycle time
  • Handle new process baseline qualifications
  • Audit and collaborate with material suppliers

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5 years of progressive experience in semiconductor process engineering
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing process flow and support equipment
  • Experience with chemical vapor and physical vapor deposition systems
  • Understanding of SPC principles and their applications
  • Data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills using software like JMP
  • Ability to identify chronic issues and implement long-term solutions in film deposition processes
