Job Description

Overview

Micron Technology is seeking a Semiconductor Process Engineer to start up, develop, and optimize processes to enhance product quality and drive yield improvements. The role involves problem resolution in manufacturing, process optimization, and collaboration with material suppliers, while ensuring high-quality output in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Start up, develop, and optimize processes for product quality
  • Drive process yield improvements and cost reductions
  • Resolve manufacturing line problems using failure analysis, FMEA, SPC, and 8D methodologies
  • Coordinate process, equipment, and material evaluations
  • Manage new process baseline qualifications and audits with material suppliers
  • Supervise health of assigned processes to ensure quality output
  • Develop proactive redundancy plans for bottlenecks affecting Fab cycle time
  • Handle up to 20% international travel

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5 years of progressive experience in semiconductor process engineering
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing process flow related to fabrication and support equipment
  • Experience with chemical vapor deposition and physical vapor deposition systems
  • SPC principles and applications related to film deposition
  • Understanding of DRAM function, Probe, and Parametric data
  • Data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills using software such as JMP
  • Ability to identify chronic issues with film deposition processes and implement long-term solutions
