Job Description

Overview

The Security Officer/Driver position at Career Systems Development Corporation involves supporting the Job Corps program, which aids socioeconomically disadvantaged youth aged 16-24. This role combines security enforcement with student transportation, ensuring safety and coordination for students and staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Enforce laws, rules, and regulations
  • Transport students to various locations
  • Inspect vehicles and report mechanical issues
  • Patrol assigned areas for safety hazards and disturbances
  • Assist visitors, students, and staff
  • Maintain accountability logs for students
  • Perform security and safety checks
  • Conduct searches and inspections as necessary
  • Investigate complaints and vehicular accidents
  • Issue visitor passes and vehicle permits
  • Supervise students during various activities

Required skills

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Three to six months experience in security or related field preferred
  • Class B License with passenger/air brake endorsement preferred
  • Knowledge of crowd control and law enforcement procedures
  • CPR/FA Certification
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Familiarity with challenges faced by underprivileged youth
