Job Description

Overview

Wegmans is seeking a Security Officer for their Syracuse location to maintain safety and security in the store. The role involves visible patrols, conflict resolution, and monitoring the environment to deter undesirable activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain high visibility near the front entrance and outside parking areas
  • Escort employees and/or customers as requested
  • Intervene and diffuse customer conflicts
  • Inspect perimeter doors, windows, and gates for security
  • Monitor store environment to deter undesirable activity

Required skills

  • 1+ years full-time experience as a sworn police officer with arrest authority
  • Valid license to carry a firearm
  • Valid driver's license
  • Conflict management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound judgement skills
  • Ability to manage conflict and communicate effectively under pressure
  • Ability to anticipate and analyze opportunities
