Job Description

Overview

Wegmans is seeking a Security Officer for their Buffalo, NY location to ensure the safety and security of customers and employees. This role involves maintaining a visible presence in the store, conducting patrols, and addressing safety concerns effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain high visibility near the front entrance and survey outside parking areas
  • Escort employees and customers as requested
  • Intervene with and diffuse customer conflicts
  • Inspect perimeter doors, windows, and gates for security
  • Monitor the store environment to deter undesirable activity

Required skills

  • 1+ years full-time experience as a sworn police officer
  • Valid license to carry a firearm
  • Valid driver's license
  • Conflict management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage conflict and communicate under pressure
  • Ability to anticipate, analyze, and identify opportunities
