Overview

Wegmans seeks a Security Officer in Ithaca, NY, who will maintain safety and security within the store and surrounding areas. This part-time role involves monitoring the environment, addressing safety concerns, and ensuring a high level of customer and employee protection.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain high visibility near the front entrance and survey parking areas
  • Escort employees and customers as requested
  • Intervene and diffuse customer conflicts
  • Inspect perimeter doors, windows, and gates for security
  • Monitor store environment to deter undesirable activity

Required skills

  • 1+ years experience as a sworn police officer
  • Valid license to carry a firearm
  • Valid driver's license
  • Conflict management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage conflict under pressure
  • Associate's degree in criminal justice or related field
  • Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • AED, APR and FAC certified
