Overview

Wegmans is seeking a part-time Security Officer to help maintain a safe environment for customers and employees in their Ithaca location. This role involves visible presence, patrolling, and addressing security concerns while offering a competitive hourly wage and bonus opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain high visibility near the front entrance and survey outside parking areas.
  • Escort employees and customers as requested.
  • Intervene with and effectively diffuse customer conflicts.
  • Inspect perimeter doors, windows, and gates to ensure security.
  • Monitor store environment to deter undesirable activity.

Required skills

  • 1+ years full-time experience as a sworn police officer with arrest authority.
  • Valid license to carry a firearm.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Conflict management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment skills under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful environments.
