Overview

The H&K Group is seeking a Secondary Plant Operator for its Locust Ridge Quarry in Pocono Lake, Pennsylvania. The role involves ensuring the smooth operation of plant equipment, maintenance tasks, and adhering to safety policies to enhance quarry operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Follow company start and stop procedures
  • Conduct daily greasing and oil checks on crushers and screens
  • Keep walkways clear of debris and report spillage issues
  • Perform daily guarding inspections and plant checks
  • Inspect screen media to ensure proper condition for production
  • Maintain cleanliness in the operating booth
  • Assist workers in solving production problems when needed
  • Complete necessary paperwork daily
  • Suggest changes to improve working conditions and equipment use

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent or one month of related experience
  • Basic mechanical abilities
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Safety-focused
  • Ability to utilize appropriate PPE
  • Ability to meet physical requirements for the job
  • 3+ months of related experience preferred
  • Experience with equipment maintenance and loader operations
  • Experience with Q329 caterpillar trackhoe and LT105 portable crusher
  • MSHA or other relevant safety certifications
