Job Description Job Description Matthews Carter & Boyce, a 100-person CPA firm in Fairfax, VA, is looking for a detail oriented and energetic individual with a strong work ethic and desire to learn the beginning steps of tax return preparation. Primary tasks relate to the initial receipt of client information including client workpaper organization, scanning and tax return information input using automated software. You will be exposed to several different types of CPA firm software and will learn the inner workings of a CPA firm. This could also be a way for you to get your foot in the door for future summer internship opportunities.Requirements include:Attention to detail - this is a critical skill in this line of workFlexible disposition - our work is fast-paced and deadline-driven; having a flexible attitude as priorities change is a huge plusConsistent availability on a set schedule for the approx. 14 week period of January 13, 2027 through April 15, 2027. Work on every other Saturday will be required.The department will need two scanners for the upcoming busy season:AM Scanner: 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, and every other Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. PM Scanner: 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, and every other Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. On Saturdays, we'd like scanners to drop off FedEx packages at the main hub on EDS Dr.Hours worked must be on-site at our Fairfax office in the Fair Lakes area (the necessary tasks cannot be performed remotely)Please send your cover letter and resume via ZipRecruiter or to our website with Tax Dept Scanner in the subject line.
