Overview

As a Seasonal Cook at Aramark in Corning, New York, you'll have the opportunity to express your passion for cooking while working with fresh ingredients and high-quality equipment. This role allows you to bring recipes to life and experiment with various cuisines, all while adhering to safety and production guidelines.

Key responsibilities

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Utilize various cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests and co-workers
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation

Required skills

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
