Job Title: Scientist, Systems Engineering Job Code: 41785 Job Location: Richardson, TX or Plano, TX Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off Job Description: The Agile Development Group (ADG) specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies. As a Scientist, Systems Engineering, you will be responsible for leading multiple product development efforts which include: hardware and software requirements definition, decomposition, allocation, management, verification, and validation of technical products and systems. You will also be responsible for leading component trade studies, system integration, and characterization of system performance. You will support technical and cost proposal efforts. Essential Functions: Architect radar systems hardware and software functional and physical design and requirements in synthesizing advanced technology design concepts. Subject matter expert in radar systems engineering. Experience with radar systems development. Execute analytical and experimental design trades of radar system architectures. Strong team player capable of collaborating engaging with various engineering (hardware, software, algorithm, programmable logic, systems) and support organizations (supply chain, operations, contracts, program management, etc.) to ensure best-value program execution. Viewed as an expert and/or resource in radar systems engineering within the field by peers in and outside the organization. Leads various aspects of radar system design, development, system integration and test efforts as an integrated project team lead. Develops or champions new systems, concepts, or technologies. Participates in proposal capture activities, both cost and technical, in concert with business development counterparts. Capable of leading design verification testing efforts including lab, chamber, ground, and flight test. Develops and runs simulations and other analysis tools to predict system performance in various environments. Leads and supports engineering troubleshooting activities and root cause investigations as required during program execution. Develops, tracks, and presents technical performance metrics. Develops, mentor, and motivate systems engineers and engineering program teams to achieve peak performance. Works with the program managers to perform dynamic risk assessments and develop execution and risk mitigation strategies for complex projects. Formulates and presents results during internal and external program meetings. Represents programs as the lead technical interface to customers. Strong communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation). Experience using Microsoft Office products. Ability to lift to 20 lbs. Up to 10% travel may be required. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related engineering experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related engineering experience.
