Job Description

Overview

The Scientist - II (Associate) role at Talent Software Services involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the qualification of new reference standards in the Animal Health industry. The position requires conducting scientific experiments, maintaining compliance with USDA guidelines, and assisting in the preparation of various documentation related to reference standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams in Research & Development, Production, Quality Control, and Regulatory Affairs
  • Maintain compliance with USDA guidelines for reference standards and in vitro potency tests
  • Prepare and test small-scale vaccines to support the formulation of new reference standards
  • Assist in the routine maintenance and management of reference standards, including in vitro stability testing
  • Conduct clinical sample testing to support the qualification of new reference standards
  • Prepare data packages, protocols, or reports for submission to USDA
  • Provide technical support for approved Quality Control assays
  • Support local, regional, and global program initiatives as assigned

Required skills

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in a relevant Biological area (Bacteriology, Biology, Microbiology, Virology)
  • 1-3 years laboratory experience in Animal Health/Industry
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques
  • Knowledge of immunological assay platforms (ELISA, serum neutralization)
  • Ability to conduct scientific experiments and interpret results
  • Detail-oriented with good documentation skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience in an R&D or Quality Control laboratory
  • Experience developing, executing, and troubleshooting in vitro analytical methods
  • Knowledge of USDA regulations for veterinary biological products
