Job Description

Overview

Talent Software Services is seeking a Scientist I for a six-month contract position in San Diego, California. The successful candidate will join the gRED Gene Therapy Nanotechnology team, primarily focusing on developing and characterizing ligand conjugates and targeted lipid nanoparticles through bioconjugation chemistry.

Key responsibilities

  • Execute bioconjugations with small molecules or polymers
  • Validate and purify bioconjugates via LC-TOF and AKTA purification station
  • Formulate non-targeted and targeted lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) using microfluidic or T-junction mixing technologies
  • Perform surface bioconjugation for targeted LNPs
  • Support analytical assay development including BLI and fluorescence microscopy
  • Evaluate ligand and particle stability under various conditions
  • Maintain electronic laboratory notebooks and author SOPs

Required skills

  • Extensive hands-on experience in bioconjugation methodologies
  • Process optimization and bimolecular reaction kinetics expertise
  • Prior experience in Antibody-Drug Conjugate development
  • Lipid nanoparticle formulation and characterization experience
  • Proficiency in bioconjugation and buffer formulation
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective communication with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with analytical software like Prism and JMP
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • MS in pharmaceutical sciences, bioengineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or related field with relevant experienc
