Job Description

Overview

As a Scientist I at Azenta, Inc., you will be responsible for reviewing quality control data, performing DNA and RNA extractions, and conducting sequencing procedures in a laboratory environment. You will also assist in the preparation of standard operating procedures and provide training and technical support to team members.

Key responsibilities

  • Review quality control data using Agilent TapeStation and Qubit Fluorometer
  • Perform DNA and RNA extraction using standard and custom protocols
  • Conduct sequencing procedures including qPCR, multiplexing, and sequencing run loading
  • Monitor run performance and perform routine maintenance of equipment
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs for RUO and CLIA workflows
  • Conduct troubleshooting and communicate results to internal/external teams
  • Provide training and technical support to team members
  • Maintain a safe workplace following company and OSHA policies

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or related field
  • 4 years of experience performing laboratory assays in a RUO environment
  • 3 years of Quality Control experience using Agilent TapeStation and Qubit Fluorometer
  • 2 years of experience operating liquid handling automation instruments
  • 2 years of experience with library preparations in RUO environment
  • Experience with high molecular weight gDNA samples and PacBio quality control
  • 1 year of experience optimizing molecular workflows
  • 1 year of experience using 10x Single Cell and ATAC-seq techniques
