Overview

Summers-Taylor, Inc. is a leading heavy civil construction company in Northeast Tennessee seeking an experienced Scheduler / Project Manager. This role involves developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules for various large-scale infrastructure projects while ensuring efficient resource allocation and compliance with company standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project or Oracle Primavera
  • Coordinate with project teams for accurate progress schedules and resource allocation
  • Track labor, equipment, and material utilization across projects
  • Monitor construction progress against baseline schedules to identify risks
  • Collaborate with Executives and Estimators to assess risks during project pursuit
  • Prepare and present schedule updates and reports to stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and contractual requirements
  • Support planning and execution of multi-year projects
  • Develop Time Impact Analysis to quantify schedule impacts

Required skills

  • Minimum 5 years of scheduling and project management experience in heavy civil construction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and/or Oracle Primavera
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules and resource tracking
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies and heavy civil operations (preferred)
  • Familiarity with cost control and earned value management (preferred)
