Overview

The SBA Business Development Officer I-III at Fresno First Bank is responsible for soliciting and developing loan transactions within SBA loan programs, ensuring compliance with lending policies, and fostering strong customer relationships. This role is part of a collaborative work culture that values teamwork and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Generate new leads through calls, emails, networking, and meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Use CRM systems to track interactions and manage pipeline activity.
  • Draft proposal letters and facilitate necessary information exchange for loan analysis.
  • Maintain knowledge of SBA regulations and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with loan processors and underwriters to assist customers.
  • Implement cost controls and monitor expenses for the department.
  • Provide leadership and training to less experienced loan officers.
  • Represent the Bank in community and civic functions.
  • Complete administrative tasks promptly and professionally.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in banking or financial services.
  • Proven skills in relationship building and conflict resolution.
  • Experience with commercial banking products and federal compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Current driver's license and insured vehicle if required.
