Overview

The Sales Engineer position in Austin, Texas, requires a candidate with over 5 years of experience in technical presales, solution architecture, or technical account support, particularly within the banking and fintech sectors. This role emphasizes the importance of strong technical knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to engage with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the sales cycle by providing technical expertise, product demonstrations, and architectural recommendations
  • Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions for banking/fintech clients
  • Create and present technical proposals, solution diagrams, and effort estimations
  • Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams to validate project scope and technical feasibility
  • Participate in discovery sessions with clients to understand requirements, risks, and integration needs
  • Maintain communication with clients throughout presales to build trust and ensure technical clarity

Required skills

  • 5+ years of experience in technical presales, sales engineering, or solution consulting
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, including microservices, APIs, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Mandatory experience working with clients in banking/fintech
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly
  • Strong presentation skills and experience participating in demos, workshops, and technical validation meetings
  • Ability to produce technical proposals, estimations, and architectural documentation
  • Degree in Systems Engineering or related field
  • English: B2 or higher
