Job Description

Overview

The Safety/EHS Manager at Rise Baking Company will partner with plant management to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures. This role involves developing and implementing safety programs, conducting audits, and leading initiatives to promote a zero incident culture within the facility.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and improve safety and environmental programs and procedures
  • Provide direction, training, and technical support for safety and environmental policies
  • Conduct regulatory audits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules
  • Design and implement hazardous waste management plans
  • Measure and monitor safety and environmental performance and drive improvements
  • Develop and maintain safety and environmental data processes
  • Direct accident investigation programs and identify trends for improvement
  • Conduct internal safety audits and ensure corrective actions are taken
  • Partner with HR on workers' compensation and staff training
  • Support food safety programs and maintain quality standards

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or equivalent experience
  • OSHA certification preferred
  • Familiarity with state environmental regulations
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in implementing safety programs
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing facilities
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer-based applications
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills
