Job Description

Overview

The Safety Superintendent at CF Industries is responsible for fostering a culture of safety excellence at the Verdigris site, where safety, health, and regulatory compliance are prioritized. This role involves leading the occupational safety team, managing safety systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving continuous safety improvements.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the occupational safety team, setting and measuring objectives.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for safety performance and culture.
  • Analyze safety data to develop long-range action plans for safety enhancement.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Facilitate safety training programs to promote employee engagement and development.
  • Conduct root-cause investigations and facilitate safety inspections.
  • Coordinate emergency response team training.
  • Represent the site on the Corporate Safety Council.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, occupational health, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the safety field, preferably in the chemical industry.
  • Occupational safety or health certification (e.g., CSP, CRSP, CIH).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and employee development skills.
  • Analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience with software-based management of incidents, audits, and compliance.
