Job Description

Overview

The Safety Manager at Rise Baking Company will partner with plant management to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures. The role focuses on providing leadership in safety and environmental programs, conducting audits, and ensuring effective communication of policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and improve safety and environmental programs and policies.
  • Provide direction, training, and technical support for safety and environmental policies.
  • Partner with management for successful completion of regulatory audits.
  • Measure and monitor safety and environmental performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop an emergency response team and ensure comprehensive training.
  • Drive employee engagement and a zero incident culture throughout the facility.
  • Conduct incident investigations and develop corrective action plans.
  • Ensure regular completion of internal safety audits and manage risks.
  • Support workers' compensation programs and manage transitional duty processes.
  • Support food safety programs and compliance with GMPs.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management or equivalent experience
  • OSHA certification preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in safety program implementation
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing facilities and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer applications
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
