Overview

The Safety Manager at The Briar Team in Sanford, Florida, plays a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental protocols are enforced on construction sites. This position involves overseeing safety procedures, conducting inspections, and providing training to employees while collaborating with leadership on safety matters.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage company telematics and vehicle safety reports
  • Develop and implement OSHA compliant safety policies and training materials
  • Collaborate on worker's compensation claims and safety incidents
  • Respond to accidents and conduct investigations
  • Prepare reports and corrective action plans
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and maintain OSHA records
  • Lead safety segments in orientations and ongoing training programs
  • Coach leadership and field personnel on safety issues
  • Conduct job site inspections and safety audits
  • Maintain safety dashboards and communicate with leadership

Required skills

  • 4+ years of safety experience in construction or site development
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction standards
  • Understanding of heavy equipment operation and excavation safety
  • Ability to communicate safety directives and enforce policies
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and operation-critical software
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
