Job Description

Overview

The Safety Intern at Metalcraft of Mayville will support the Safety Director in providing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) support to manufacturing operations. The role focuses on improving safety practices, conducting training, and participating in incident investigations.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist safety coordinators with individual safety topics and training Shop Leaders.
  • Review and update safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain OSHA record keeping for recordable injuries.
  • Participate in incident investigations and prepare relevant documentation.
  • Compile and analyze safety statistics and incident data for trends.
  • Implement and document EHS required training.
  • Offer innovative solutions for safety issues.
  • Participate in or lead 6S Teams to develop and execute safety programs.

Required skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of applicable safety regulations
  • Strong customer service skills
