Overview

The Safety Coordinator at Progressive Roofing will take charge of safety management within the company, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and minimizing health risks on site. This role involves training and monitoring safety practices on commercial roofing projects in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect project work environments for safety infractions
  • Monitor and enforce safety plans and OSHA standards
  • Provide training, including OSHA 10-hour courses, to project teams
  • Assist with safety pre-construction meetings and high-risk activity planning
  • Prepare daily written reports of safety observations
  • Communicate safety requirements and expectations to project teams
  • Stop work in areas with serious safety deficiencies
  • Participate in weekend or off-hour high-risk activities as needed

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience in a commercial roofing environment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Considerable knowledge of OSHA standards and safety codes
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety rules and documents
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Physical ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds and work at heights
