Job Description

Overview

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) at Ace Hardware Corporation serves as a strategic partner by aligning business objectives with employee needs. The role involves consulting management on HR-related issues, advocating for employees, and developing integrated solutions in collaboration with the HR function at both the retail support center and corporate levels.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork.
  • Develop and maintain successful working relationships to provide effective HR processes and advice.
  • Provide coaching, consultation, and direction to management in staffing, employee relations, policy administration, and performance management.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Create a positive employee relations environment to enhance performance.
  • Manage new hire orientation and check-ins, stay interviews, and performance review tracking.
  • Handle leave of absences and workers' compensation claims.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and manage travel arrangements for emergency response.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • PHR/SPHR preferred
  • 2-5 years of progressive HR experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to create relationships throughout the organization
  • HR generalist experience in compensation practices, organizational development, employee relations, and performance mana
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
  • Strong conflict management and investigative skills
  • Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment
  • Self-directed and motivated with a proactive approach
