Overview

The RS Structural Mechanic IV - Special Missions at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah is responsible for performing structural assembly operations on aircraft in a team-oriented environment. The role requires strong blueprint interpretation skills and previous aircraft modification experience to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures using blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Conduct varied drilling and riveting operations on aircraft
  • Coordinate with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork
  • Mentor and train team members in blueprint interpretation and assembly techniques
  • Check all work for defects and ensure quality prior to final inspection
  • Organize workloads to meet schedule expectations
  • Support Lean Activities and comply with safety regulations
  • Maintain logs and records related to work performed

Required skills

  • Strong blueprint interpretation skills
  • 6 years of structural assembly experience
  • Experience with Solumnia and Smarteam preferred
  • Ability to use various tools such as riveting guns and pneumatic drills
  • Good working knowledge of computers and related software
  • Ability to perform close tolerance work
  • Mathematical skills for solving dimensional problems
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
