Overview

The RS Cabinet Maker I position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in St. Louis involves the fabrication of aircraft cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies under direct supervision. This entry-level role provides an opportunity to develop technical skills in cabinet assembly while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn entry-level technical skills related to aircraft cabinetmaking
  • Develop technical competency and problem-solving abilities
  • Prepare and make furniture using design and engineering drawings
  • Utilize material tracking system for parts demand and work sign-off
  • Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies
  • Assist in the development and implementation of related initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Cabinet assembly experience
  • Avionics and plumbing knowledge preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Woodworking and wood finishing skills
  • Technical Certificate in cabinet making or related apprenticeship experience
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong English language skills
