Job Description

Overview

The Robot Technician at BlackTree Technical Group, Inc. is responsible for staging, configuring, and preparing robots while ensuring minimal downtime during testing. This role includes troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining organized workspaces, and executing preventative maintenance for robotic systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Stage, configure, and prepare robots with appropriate hardware and test setups
  • Manage experiment flow and prioritize usage to minimize downtime
  • Perform first-level technical triage on hardware and software issues
  • Escalate complex issues with detailed documentation
  • Identify gaps in troubleshooting processes and contribute to SOPs
  • Coordinate and execute preventative maintenance
  • Monitor fleet health and system status prior to deployment
  • Maintain organized workspaces in alignment with 5S standards
  • Track and update work through ticketing systems

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in technical operations or field service
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Strong electromechanical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot using structured processes
  • Basic proficiency with Linux command line
  • Experience using ticketing systems like Jira
  • Attention to detail in fast-paced environments
  • Basic scripting or automation experience
