Overview

H&K Group, Inc., specifically the Lehigh Valley Site Contractors division, is seeking a Road Mechanic to repair and maintain diesel and gasoline heavy equipment and trucks in the Lehigh Valley area. The ideal candidate should be energetic and organized, with a professional demeanor to carry out repairs in the field.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform work adhering to OSHA, PA, and DoT regulations and H&K Safety policies
  • Drive to various locations in the Lehigh Valley area
  • Review job orders and determine malfunctions to plan work procedures
  • Identify parts for repairs or replacement as needed
  • Examine and adjust equipment safety devices and protective guards
  • Dismantle equipment to inspect parts for defects
  • Replace or repair defective parts
  • Assemble and test machines or perform test drives to verify repairs
  • Overhaul gas or diesel engines
  • Perform diagnostics using computers and various equipment
  • Conduct front end inspections and alignments
  • Execute other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CDL B
  • Clean driving record
  • Customer service and teamwork skills
  • General computer knowledge and experience with Caterpillar software (ET & SIS)
  • Ability to use mechanics hand tools, torch, and welder
  • Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE
  • Physical capability to meet job requirements
  • Related experience in heavy civil construction or heavy equipment field
