Overview

The Clinical Supervisor for the Nursing Float Pool at CHRISTUS Health is responsible for overseeing nursing operations and ensuring quality patient care in collaboration with the Nursing Department Director/Manager. This role involves supervising staff, supporting patient services, and facilitating teamwork within the department to improve healthcare outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead shift operations of a clinical department and ensure nursing care safety and quality.
  • Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct patient experience rounds and investigate complaints.
  • Monitor and improve patient flow metrics in collaboration with the Patient Flow Supervisor.
  • Promote cohesive teamwork and conflict resolution among staff.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assist in managing patient pain and implement safety goals.
  • Conduct emergency procedures and respond to critical care events.
  • Participate in staff development, including performance evaluations and mentoring.

Required skills

  • 3 years relevant nursing experience preferred
  • Current RN license in New Mexico
  • BSN degree preferred
  • Current BLS, ACLS certifications
  • Knowledge of nursing standards and regulations
  • Experience in patient care and clinical supervision
  • Ability to coach and mentor nursing staff
  • Familiarity with patient safety goals and infection control
