Overview

The RN Clinical Supervisor for Acute Psych Adult at CHRISTUS Health plays a critical role in managing clinical operations and ensuring safety and quality in nursing care. This position entails leadership responsibilities, supervising nursing staff, and participating in interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient and family services.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing shift leadership and operations of a clinical department
  • Supervise nursing department associates and deliver patient care when needed
  • Conduct patient experience rounds to assess satisfaction with services
  • Champion change and identify obstacles for effective improvement
  • Prepare patient assignments based on needs and associate competency
  • Monitor and improve patient flow metrics in collaboration with other supervisors
  • Promote teamwork and conflict resolution within the department
  • Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures
  • Monitor and coach staff on various nursing practices, including pain management and medication administration
  • Act as a clinical resource for associates in complex clinical situations
  • Respond to unit emergent events including Code Blue Alerts and Rapid Response Team
  • Assist manager/director in staffing and scheduling needs
