Overview

UNC Health is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for the RN Clinical Nurse II position within the Central Staffing Office, a newly launched internal staffing pool that supports UNC Medical Center and UNC Rex Campuses. This part-time role involves providing patient care in high-impact clinical areas, including Acute Care, Critical Care, and the Emergency Department, and offers flexibility and competitive pay.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process across hospital settings.
  • Float to a minimum of four UNC Hospital locations and across different acuity levels.
  • Participate in identifying and meeting personal and patient education needs.
  • Assess patient readiness to learn and developmental levels affecting learning.
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and promote continuity of care.
  • Implement care plans for patients with complex problems, including physical and psychosocial needs.
  • Collaborate with patients and families in planning care and addressing cultural issues.
  • Engage in professional growth activities and support cost-effective patient care.

Required skills

  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Five years of nursing experience in inpatient settings.
  • Ability to float between various clinical areas and acuity levels.
  • Competence in patient care, assessment, and education.
