Overview

The RN Clinical Nurse II Flex VII position at UNC Health involves providing high-quality clinical nursing care in a dynamic, system-wide internal staffing pool. The role includes working across different clinical areas such as Acute Care, Critical Care, and the Emergency Department. Applicants should have substantial experience in inpatient hospital settings and be able to adapt to diverse patient populations.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process
  • Float to multiple UNC Hospital locations across different acuity levels
  • Participate in education programs and use patient education materials
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate patient care
  • Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems
  • Develop goals for professional growth and participate in unit performance improvement
  • Assess patient needs and collaborate with families in care planning
  • Stay current with relevant research and practices

Required skills

  • Graduate from a school of professional nursing
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Five years of nursing experience
  • Critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments
  • Team collaboration skills
  • Emergency care and nursing process knowledge
