Overview

The RN Clinical Nurse II for 5 West - Acute Care Neuroscience at UNC Health is responsible for delivering competent clinical nursing care in a team-oriented environment focused on neurological disorders and medical-surgical patients. This role includes patient assessment, care planning, and coordination, all while promoting professional growth and collaboration among the healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in identifying and addressing educational needs for self and patients
  • Evaluate and revise patient care plans with the interdisciplinary team
  • Implement care for patients with complex problems, ensuring safety and appropriateness
  • Develop personal goals for professional growth and support unit goals and performance improvement
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and anticipate discharge needs
  • Collaborate with patients and families in planning care
  • Engage in research and read relevant nursing journals

Required skills

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • One year of nursing experience
  • Knowledge of healthcare and nursing standards
  • Ability to perform bedside point of care testing
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
