Overview

UNC Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse II for its Youth Behavioral Health Facility in Butner, North Carolina. This full-time position focuses on providing nursing care to pediatric patients with developmental disabilities and mental health needs within a multidisciplinary team environment aimed at crisis stabilization.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process
  • Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and others
  • Evaluate patient care outcomes and communicate with the interdisciplinary team
  • Implement care for patients with complex problems
  • Assess and anticipate discharge needs of patients and families
  • Collaborate with patients and families to update the plan of care
  • Promote a safe and secure hospital environment

Required skills

  • Registered Nurse license in North Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • At least one year of nursing experience
  • Experience in behavioral health nursing
  • Strong understanding of pediatric patients with developmental disabilities
  • Excellent communication and team skills
