Overview

The Retirement Plan Officer/Consultant at Midland States Bank will develop and manage qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, engaging with employers and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role emphasizes client relationship management, service delivery, and business development within retirement planning.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and manage various retirement plans including 401(k), 403(b), and defined benefit plans.
  • Interact with employers and their centers of influence through meetings and correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS and DOL regulations.
  • Manage relationships with a diverse book of retirement plan accounts.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of account fee schedules.
  • Select investment line-ups and conduct fund analysis with clients.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws affecting retirement plans.
  • Consult with clients on plan designs to meet their goals.
  • Coordinate annual compliance testing with Retirement Plan Administrator.
  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts for retirement plans.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-10 years of experience in retirement plan administration
  • Knowledge of ERISA and federal regulations
  • Experience in investment management
