Overview

The Retail Customer Service Supervisor at PetSmart plays a vital role in ensuring exceptional service for pet parents while maintaining the company's vision and strategy. This position involves overseeing daily operations, guiding associates, and promoting a positive customer experience in the store. The supervisor is also responsible for training and development of staff and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Facilitate the associate experience through training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures.
  • Promote and coordinate store events and marketing initiatives.
  • Address and resolve pet parent concerns in person and online.
  • Oversee store cleanliness, merchandising, and safety of people and pets.
  • Support various service businesses and lead when necessary.
  • Handle cash transactions and operate point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Assist in opening and closing store procedures.

Required skills

  • 2+ years of retail experience in a customer-focused environment
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
