Overview

Eldorado Hotel & Spa is seeking a Restaurant Chef to lead the culinary direction of their outlet in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This role involves overseeing the kitchen operations, shaping the guest experience through creative menu development, and enhancing team performance and engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the culinary team within the outlet
  • Oversee hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of kitchen staff
  • Develop and evolve menus focusing on creativity and seasonality
  • Execute daily service with a hands-on leadership approach
  • Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and execution
  • Monitor and manage food costs, labor, and inventory
  • Uphold food safety, sanitation, and health standards
  • Source high-quality ingredients and build vendor relationships
  • Train and mentor team members for skill development

Required skills

  • Strong culinary creativity and menu design
  • Proven leadership and team development skills
  • Solid understanding of kitchen operations and food cost management
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Effective communication and collaboration across departments
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive culinary experience
  • At least 1+ years in a leadership role
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • ServSafe Certification or equivalent required
