Overview

As the Account Services Manager for Retail at Staples, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of online stores and physical retail locations that offer branded products. You will lead a team to design and implement customer service tools, ensuring an exceptional client experience while being accountable for financial results and effective execution of online and retail operations across Canada.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure performance and growth of a portfolio generating between $4M and $8M.
  • Lead operations of multiple retail stores, including staffing, training, scheduling, performance management, and employee retention.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop and deploy account strategies, business plans, client calendars, inventory strategies, and marketing initiatives.
  • Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients, establishing strong, trust-based relationships.
  • Meet launch deadlines, margin goals, SKU counts, and budgets.
  • Manage inventory, procurement, and merchandising strategies for online platforms and physical stores.
  • Oversee project management activities, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and internal coordination are met.
  • Produce sales forecasts, manage operating budgets, and track business performance and merchandising.
  • Mentor and develop a team of account services and retail professionals while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Travel as needed to support client meetings, business activities, vendor visits, and in-store operations.

Required skills

  • Bilingual (French and English) essential.
  • Proven leadership and ability to recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong results orientation with demonstrated ability to meet and exceed business objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and capacity to drive change and innovation.
  • Solid communication skills for aligning internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and rigor in execution.
  • Collaborative, customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in sales, marketing, or operations.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in team management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
