Overview

Menorah Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Manager to oversee operations and administrative functions within the Respiratory Departments at both Menorah Medical Center and Overland Park Regional Medical Center. The role entails setting strategic objectives, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing staffing, and maintaining quality improvement activities while providing care across various patient age groups.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage all operations of the Respiratory Therapy departments
  • Establish service standards and set objectives in collaboration with administration
  • Oversee budgeting and financial performance
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements
  • Conduct staff training and develop quality assurance measures
  • Conduct employee coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations
  • Participate in committee meetings and handle payroll verification
  • Perform duties as a staff therapist when needed
  • Maintain and write departmental policies and procedures

Required skills

  • Graduate of an Accredited Program of Respiratory Therapy
  • Bachelor of Science preferred
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist in Kansas
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NRP certification required upon hire
  • 5 years of experience as RRT in an acute care setting
  • 2 years of supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
