Overview

OhioHealth is seeking a part-time Respiratory Therapist to work night shifts in Cambridge, Ohio. This role involves administering diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to aid patients' breathing, evaluating the appropriateness and effectiveness of respiratory care, and communicating findings with healthcare professionals. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered to new hires.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to facilitate patient breathing.
  • Evaluate and document the effectiveness of respiratory interventions.
  • Collect and analyze clinical data for patient assessments.
  • Develop and revise the Respiratory Care Plan as needed.
  • Administer various respiratory therapies, including mechanical ventilation and aerosol therapy.
  • Perform invasive procedures such as suctioning and arterial blood gas analysis.
  • Respond to emergency situations and participate in resuscitation procedures.
  • Manage equipment and ensure regulatory compliance in respiratory care settings.
  • Provide education and mentoring for patients, students, and staff.

Required skills

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care or related field.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Ohio licensure or limited permit in respiratory care.
  • National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification.
  • Patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
  • 1 year of clinical experience.
