Overview

Ochsner Health System is seeking a new graduate Respiratory Therapist for various locations in Louisiana. The role involves providing respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to patients of all ages, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with established procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, and diagnostic testing.
  • Monitor and wean patients off oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation.
  • Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs.
  • Educate patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
  • Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to policies.
  • Maintain professional certifications and up-to-date knowledge of technical procedures.

Required skills

  • Associate's Degree in a related field
  • Current License as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care
