Overview

Wellstar Health Systems is seeking a Weekend Respiratory Therapist II for night shifts at their Paulding Hospital in Hiram, GA. This role involves delivering complex patient care, primarily in critical care areas, while also focusing on education and mentoring within the team. The position offers a significant sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for qualified, experienced practitioners.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and support to patients and families
  • Conduct patient assessments and collaborate with the healthcare team for care planning
  • Administer medications and therapies including aerosolized medication and respiratory treatments
  • Manage ventilators and perform airway management procedures
  • Educate patients and mentor new staff and students
  • Promote patient safety and quality care initiatives
  • Complete required documentation and maintain accurate electronic orders

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist certification
  • Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with computer databases and patient management systems
