Overview

The Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) at Wellstar Health Systems is responsible for delivering high-quality respiratory care in a critical care environment. This role involves significant independent decision-making and the ability to manage complex patient care situations, including medication administration and patient education. The therapist will work collaboratively within a healthcare team to provide effective patient care while also contributing to the education of new employees and staff development.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide patient assessments and administer respiratory therapy
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members in planning patient care
  • Manage ventilators and perform airway management procedures
  • Educate patients and their families about respiratory therapies

Required skills

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist certification (NBRC-RRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Ability to establish relationships with healthcare professionals
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience with a minimum of 6 months in critical care
