Overview

The Respiratory Therapist at OhioHealth is responsible for administering diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to aid patients with breathing difficulties. This full-time night position involves evaluating respiratory care effectiveness, developing care plans, and working closely with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patient breathing
  • Evaluate respiratory care for appropriateness and effectiveness
  • Communicate findings to healthcare professionals
  • Review clinical data and collect additional data as needed
  • Contribute to the development and revision of the Respiratory Care Plan
  • Maintain patient airway and manage respiratory equipment
  • Respond to emergency situations and participate in trauma procedures
  • Provide health education and mentoring for patients and staff

Required skills

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care
  • BLS Certification
  • Ohio Respiratory Care License
  • NBRC Certification
  • Patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • 1 year of clinical experience
  • Knowledge of respiratory care technology
